Coach Scott Pecze

Scott Pecze was raised in North Ridgeville and began competitive swimming at the age of eleven. He continued competing through High School. He swam for various USA teams,Mills Creek Swim Team during the summer months, and North Ridgeville High School throughout his swimming career.

Coach Scott began coaching in 1983 for Mills Creek. He also coached for various USA teams including, Sylvania Swim Club (where he helped get Coach Dave his fist coaching job), Vacationland, and Explorer’s Aquatic Club. He was chosen to be a zone coach twice and was selected to attend the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs to be instructed by the world’s best coaches. He coached Sylvania High school during his college years and was the first coach of Amherst Steele High School. He was chosen SWC coach of the year in 2000.

Coach Scott has coached for the Torpedoes since 1995, taking some time off to coach for Amherst Steele High School. He been Head coach of Amherst’s summer rec. team for 12 years.

Coach Scott Believes in the self discipline learned from the sport of swimming. He has enjoyed each and every one of the thousands of swimmers he has coached over the years stating "Each swimmer brings something special to the team concept". He commends Coach Dave,the parent organization, and Torpedo swimmers for supporting the core values of the YMCA.
